NE20E routers are high-end routers which
famous for high forwarding performance, abundant services and carrier-class
reliability. The NE20E router adopts the network processor (NP) technology
which takes advantages of both ASIC and CPU, it can provide both high
hardware-based performance (4.5Mpps) and software-based flexibility.
NE20E only has NE20E-8 with adopts the
modularized structure and provides the High-speed Interface Card (HIC) and the
Flexible Interface Card (FIC). The hardware structure of the NE20E provides the
following maintainable attributes:
-Supports hot swap.
-Adopts the backplane in the middle. The
boards are inserted in the backplane horizontally. The structure is convenient
for the configuration and maintenance.
-The fan is located on the left of the
router backplane. It uses multiple fans to carry out the ventilation for the
requirements of heat dissipation.
Besides, NE20E has effective monitoring
system. It manages and maintains the whole system by the main control module on
the Routing Process Unit (RPU). RPU can manage, monitor and maintain the board,
the fan module and the power module.
NE20E abide by the Electro Magnetic
Compatibility (EMC) and the Underwriter Laboratories Inc. (UL). The whole
system reaches the module-class shield level. Every handle is made of steel
sheet to isolate the electromagnetic wave of boards.
